Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Jane (Mercer) Carlin, loving wife to the late William “Bill” Charles Edward Carlin, wish to announce her passing which occurred on December 26, 2022, at her residence, Kennebec Manor. Born January 18, 1940, in Saint John, NB, to the late Charles and Violet (Carrick) Mercer.
She was a qualified Laboratory Technician and worked in the Saint John Hospital laboratories over the years. She was an avid quilter and belonged to the Stella Maris and the Marco Polo quilters.
She is survived by her daughter Beth, her son Ronald (Gay Wilson), grandchildren; Alexander, Patrick, and Joseph, great-granddaughter Violet, her brother John Mercer, sister Barbara Ellis (Glendon), brother-in law Bill Ruddick, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Besides her husband Bill, and her parents, Charles and Violet Mercer, she was predeceased by her sister Susan Ruddick.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Friday, December 30th from 1 to 3 pm at which time the Funeral Liturgy will take place in the Fundy Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery later. Donations made to The NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Saint John Animal Rescue League SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
