Jay Carnahan passed away peacefully at the age of 91. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend.
Jay was predeceased by her loving husband Frank, her mom and dad, brothers Ed, Len and Jack, and sister Victoria. She leaves behind her brother Joe (Helen), sisters Betty (Dave) and Anne, sons Brian (Chris), Michael (Mary-Ellen), daughter Heather (Todd), grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her teaching career began at age 19 in a one-room schoolhouse in Saskatchewan and ended at Sturgeon Heights School in St. Albert in 1989. Meeting and marrying Frank Carnahan in the 1950s took her on a lifelong adventure of travel, living in England, Scotland, and Germany, but most importantly for Jay, created her treasured family of 3 children.
She had a very full and happy life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Albert United Church, 20 Green Grove Drive, St. Albert at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 12th.
