Obituary
BRUCE HUDSON RIEGER
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bruce Rieger from Beachburg, in the Ottawa General Hospital, on December 8, 2022, in his 58th year. Bruce will be mourned by his wife Sara Edmison, his children Kylie and Zack Rieger; and his parents Edward and Barbara Rieger; predeceased by mother Valerie. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Vicki (Colin Read) and Keith Rieger, parents-in-law Peter and Judy Edmison, brother-in-law Kelvin (Anna) Edmison, and nieces / nephews Nicki, Timmy, Hudson, Lauren, Liam, and his many life-long friends.
Bruce was happiest adventuring, whether in his beloved Ottawa Valley or in far-flung places of the world – India, Nepal, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Belize. He spent most of his life in and around the Ottawa River, having worked on and off at Wilderness Tours for decades. He was an avid outdoorsman, a dedicated volunteer member of the Whitewater Township Fire Department and a highly respected instructor with Rescue Canada. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Beachburg Firefighters Association would be appreciated.
Friends and family may call at the Fraser-Morris and Heubner Funeral Home Cobden on Wednesday, December 14, from 2:00– 4:00 and 7:00– 9:00 pm. Celebration of life will be held in the Cobden Agricultural Hall on Thursday, December 15, at 1:00 pm.
