Obituary of Baxter Pitts
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at Carbonear General Hospital on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Baxter Nelson Pitts of Victoria, age 71 years.
Predeceased by parents: John and Mathilda; brother: William ‘Bill’.
Leaving to mourn, with fond and loving memories, his wife and soul mate of 47 years: Debbie; well-loved children: April (Chris) Antle, Victoria, Shane (Karen), Halifax, NS and Chris (Brittany), Penhold, AB; seven precious grandchildren, whom he adored: Andrew, Aaron, Anthony, Braeden, Jayden, Connor, and Norah; brother: Raymond (Joan), Carbonear; three sisters: Marion (Charles, deceased) Seward, New Perlican, Hannah (Robert) White, Waterloo, ON, and Ruby (Noel) Tilley, Bedford, NS; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (Ralph, deceased) Johnson, Pennsylvania, USA, Vera (Charles) Johnson, Victoria, Lyla (Philip) Riggs and Audrey (Bram) Boyd, both of Glovertown, Rosalind (Jack, deceased) Clarke and Lillian (William, deceased) Clarke, both of Victoria; brothers-in-law: Ronald (Vera) Clarke, Fort McMurray, AB, Glenn (Joan) Clarke, Victoria, Stanley (Daisy) Clarke, Wabush, and Tony (Judy) Clarke, Hopeall; special friends: David and Joslyn King; Willie and Marilyn Clarke, all of Victoria; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to ambulatory care, 4 North A, and Dr. Joanne Hickey, and her team at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s. Also thank you to the Carbonear General 6th floor and Tammy Baldwin RN for her special care.
Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, April 3 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 4 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Funeral service to take place on Monday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the United Church, Victoria. Cremation to follow. Interment to be held at the United Church Cemetery, Victoria at a later date.
