Obituary
Bart F. Lackie Esq.
Passed away unexpectedly at his home in Tweed Ontario on Saturday December 17th 2022 at the age of 76 years. Bart was the beloved husband of Donna Fry of Killarney, Manitoba and step father to her son Geoffrey Fry {France Latreille} of Kanata Ontario and Andrea Fry {Mark Gorman} of Glen Allen, Virginia. He is also survived by his step grandchildren; Graeme, Emma, John and Peter and by his beloved God-brother, Dr. James Lunan {Dr. Joy Lunan} of Middlebury, Connecticut. Bart was born in Toronto, the only son of Theodore “Ted” Lackie DDS and his wife Donna. He was a highly accomplished and respected attorney {Barrister}. He attended UTS school in Toronto and was a graduate of Trinity College in Port Hope, Queen’s University in Kingston {BA} and from Queen’s University School of Law. Bart practiced law in Toronto where in addition to private practice; he did extensive Pro Bono work for the Portuguese population there. He also practiced in Ottawa, Kingston Belleville and in Tweed Ontario. He had many and varied interests including a passion for automobiles and boating. His fondest memories were of his lifetime of summers spent on The French River. He will be remembered as a man of the highest integrity who loved animals, reading and the game of cribbage. Cremation as already taken place and a celebration of a life well lived will be planned for next year. Memorial donations maybe made to your local animal shelter or to The SPCA {Ontario} in Bart’s memory.
