It is with a heavy heart that we announce Archie’s passing, after an extended stay in the Morris General hospital.
Archie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy, his sons Michael and Jordy, his daughter Tracey, 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and one very special great granddaughter. Archie was predeceased by one brother, one sister and his parents John and Elsie Hunter.
He worked as an engineer for the department of highways for over 30 years. During that time, he also did some farming and was on council. Archie was a very social person and liked nothing better than someone stopping by for a chat. He was always ready with a joke or one of his stories. The history of the R.M. and its people was his passion, and he could be called upon to settle many a dispute. He was a fountain of information, and for that he will be sorely missed. Very sport minded, he played baseball and hockey and followed his children and grandchildren with great enthusiasm.
Archie and Judy moved from the farm in Greenridge where they lived most of their lives, to Dominion City in 2015 and enjoyed 6 years in their new home together.
A graveside service for Archie will be held on Wednesday, October 12th at 1:00pm at the Dominion City Cemetery. All friends, family, and neighbours are welcome to attend. For anyone who may want to say goodbye, there will be a viewing on Tuesday, October 11th at 6:00-8:00pm at the Morris Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank friends and relatives for the well wishes and the staff at Morris Hospital for the excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to a charity of one’s choice.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Archibald
