Anthony will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. Also survived by lifelong friend Rick Jamrozinski who always respectfully called Dad “Farmer”.
After his father’s death, when Tony was 15, he left school to take care of his mother and the farm. He became the man of the house at an early age with the help of so many friends and neighbours.
Tony worked as a farm labourer in his younger years. Then as a young man starting his family, he worked at Ontario Steel and owned his own dump truck and backhoe business. Tony was a heavy duty mechanic for years with Fredicks Transport, Preferred, and Transit Trailer, then
later became self employed. He was a farmer at heart, “he came from the dirt”. The shop door was always open for anyone needing a quick repair or a long visit. A gathering place for his sons and their friends. Building race cars, replacing an engine or manufacturing that special part. Mentoring the young men in the neighbourhood. Believing that his daughter and granddaughters could do anything the guys can do and encouraging and supporting them to do so. Respected and loved by so many. The many years of Tony holding a pig roast for family and friends hold so many good memories for all.
Special heartfelt appreciation to doctors, nurses and PSW’s who helped keep Dad comfortable and well cared for. Charitable donations can be made to the Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation. We would like to invite anyone who knew and loved Tony to a Celebration of His Life on Saturday, October 1, from 1-4pm at our home, 23226/23230 Dillon Rd.
