Allan Scott Orr
July 26, 1942 – August 31, 2022
With great regret, we announce the passing of “Big Al”, 80 of Upper Sackville NS. Allan passed away at home on August 31st 2022. Born in Edmonton Alberta, Allan was the son of the late George and Jeannie Orr.
Allan served 35 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces (RCN) retiring in 1997. His years at sea were spent on HMCS Restigouche, Protecteur, Preserver, Mackenzie and CERA of Fraser. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church serving as a Deacon as well as being an usher and on the welcoming committee.
Allan is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Betty, son Thomas Milbury of Halifax, daughter Marlene Major of Upper Sackville, grandchildren Marlene, Tammy, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Ashley, Lauren, Trevor and Bradley, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grand daughter, 4 sisters in law, 1 brother in law, 1 daughter in law and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother and father, Allan was predeceased by daughter Patti O’Neill, sons Charles Milbury and Earl Milbury, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will take place Friday, September 9th 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at TK Barnard Funeral Home 85 Sackville Cross Road. Funeral to be held Saturday, September 10th 2022 at 11:00am at Faith Baptist Church 299 Stokil Drive in Lower Sackville with reception to follow in Church hall. Burial at a later date in Allenville Cemetery, Spencers Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Baptist Church or the Canadian Cancer Society.
