Alfred (Al) Howard Dryden of Fredericton, NB, passed away
peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday December 19,
2022 at the age of 83 after a long battle with cancer. Al
was born in Turtle Creek, NB and was a son of the late Lloyd and Mary
(Bulmer) Dryden. He joined the Air Force (where he got his
nickname Red) in his late teens which allowed him an education that
would serve him well after leaving the Air Force. Following
Al had a long successful career as a Computer Technician for IBM,
retiring after over 30 years of dedicated service. Al loved
being outdoors and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the freedom of
being on a motorcycle. He was also a skilled woodworker
producing several beautiful pieces that he gave to both family and
friends, which will be cherished keepsakes.
Al is survived and will be missed by his loving wife of 59
years, Donna; his three children Neil Dryden of Fredericton, Janet
Wells of Moncton, Blake Dryden (Crystal) of Lahoma OK; three
grandchildren Alyssa Wells (Matt) of Moncton, Devin Wells (Jessica) of
Fredericton, Savannah Dryden of Lahoma, OK; four siblings Evelyn
Evans, Leslie Dryden (Marg), Willis Dryden (Gail), Eva Dryden;
sister-in-law Faye Dryden; brother-in-law Larry Trites, all
of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by
his brother Arnold Dryden, his sisters June Steeves and Jean
Magee.
There will be a celebration of life service for family and
friends at the New Hope Community Church at 47529 Homestead Road,
Moncton NB on Wednesday December 28th at 2pm
with a reception to follow for family.
Donations in memory of Al can be made to the SPCA, Friends of
the Chalmers Hospital, the Steeves Mountain Cemetery or the
donor’s choice.
