Alexander Thornhill
Passed peacefully away at his home in Fortune with his wife at his side on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, Alexander «Alex» Thornhill at the age of 64.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife Gabrielle of 43 yrs; brother, Don (Angela) Thornhill; sister, Judy (Donald) Collins; great nephew, Carter Thornhill; sisters in-law, Catherine (Eric) Strickland, Celeste (Melvin) Thornhill, Rose (Gerard) Lockyer, Dorothy (Clayton) McFee, Mary(Wayne) Fleming, Cindy Bolt; brothers in-law, Alexander Boland, Clement (Jean) Benteau, Kevin Benteau; plus a large circle of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
Alexander was predeceased by the love of his life, his daughter Judyette; parents, William & Mary Thornhill; brothers, Henry and Glen; sisters, Edna and Marion; sister in-law, Margaret; nephew, James (Jimmy); parents in-law, Clement & Catherine Benteau; brother in-law, Gerard Benteau,
Alex loved fishing and hunting especially with his brother Henry. He loved the outdoors especially being in his boat and riding his quad, but he could turn his hand to almost anything. He also loved his dog Bella who was beside him right to the end.
Gabrielle would like to express her gratitude to nurses Tammy and Tracey who went above and beyond their call of duty, as well as Dr. Davids. Also a special Thank You to family and friends who came to visit so often, especially Judy & Donald and Melvin for being there for my every beck and call when needed and to niece Marion who could be depended on without any hesitation.
The Thornhill Family will be accepting family and close friends at Wiseman’s Funeral Home Fortune on Friday and Saturday, October 21st & 22nd, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022 at 10:00 am at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Fortune Interment to follow at The Salvation Army, Fortune.
In Alexander’s memory donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or flowers greatly accepted.
