It is with sad hearts that the family of Adolph Daniel Doering announce his passing on December 27th, 2022, at the age of 92years.
Adolph was born and raised on the family farm in the Hanna area. He did some trucking and farming with his Dad. Adolph married Shirley Faechner in 1955. While living in the Hanna area their six children were born. In 1966 they ventured north to the Glendon area where they settled on the farm on Minnie Lake. They worked hard together on the farm, raising their family, and enjoying friends and neighbours. Adolph enjoyed tinkering and making things that assisted in the tasks around the farm. They raised chickens, and, having seen a chicken plucker somewhere he set out to make his own… successfully. In his retirement years he enjoyed some woodworking, building some pool tables for family members, among other things. Adolph and Shirley retired from the farm in 1997, moving to an acreage closer to St Paul, and later, into St Paul. They enjoyed spending time with their friends, playing bingo and cards, and visiting. As Shirley’s health declined Adolph found it very difficult that he could not give her the care his beloved wife needed. He too was declining as dementia began to take a firm grasp on him. These changes required moving into long term care where they lived out their final years.
Adolph is survived by his 4 daughters, Colleen (Darrell) Callihoo, Cindy (David) Scott, Katie Doering & Lorena (Ward) Plamondon; son, Ritchie (Lois) Doering; 11 grandchildren, Craig (Loreta), Robin (Leroy), Jason, Amanda (Jeff), Shawn (Charlene), Shane (Meghan), Derek (Alicia), Jonathan (Katy), Kris (Becca), Rayah & Becki; 8 great-grandchildren, Marlowe, Lennox, James, Allison, Olivia, Jack, Tia & Macey; brother, Reinhold Doering; 3 sisters, Alma Karg, Bernice O’neill & Helen (Hilliard) Merchant. Adolph was predeceased by his wife, Shirley; son, Kim; parents, Rudolf & Augustina; brother, Walter; sisters, Ella & Viola. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul with Mr. Henry Loewen officiating. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations may be made to Haying in the 30’s (Cancer Support Society) or a charity of one’s choice c/o 5626-51 Street, St. Paul, Alberta T0A 3A1.
