Marie-Rose Parthenay
Peacefully, on March 18, 2022, with family by her side, Marie-Rose passed away at the age of 98 years at the Ste. Rose General Hospital. She was the fifth of eleven children, born on October 21, 1923, to Alphonse and Alice Ingelbeen, at their home in Valpoy, MB. They then moved to the farm by Ste. Rose and she received her education to grade 9 in Ste. Rose. Mom worked at the Ste. Rose Creamery where she graded eggs and later at Molgat’s Department Store.
On October 12, 1949, she married Marcel Parthenay. They took over the farm from Marcel’s parents and together they grain and cattle farmed until Marcel’s passing in 1981. When she wasn’t helping out on the farm she was tending to her large garden. Mom always took great pride in her garden, especially her tomato plants, which she was always willing to share her bountiful crop.
Mom remained on the farm for many years, raising her chickens and selling eggs. She finally moved into Ste. Rose in 2000 and remained living in her home until her passing.
She was a dedicated member of the Ste. Rose Ladies Legion Auxiliary and the Ste. Rose Church Choir. Mom loved visiting and spending time with her family, sisters and brothers. She enjoyed travelling and camping, taking many trips with friends and family. Her greatest pride and joy were her grand-children and great grand-children. She cherished and loved every moment spent with them and always looked forward to their visits and phone calls. She always had a positive and cheerful outlook on life.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Marcel, son Joseph, mother Alice Ingelbeen (Vandepoele), father Alphonse Ingelbeen, brothers Louis, Joseph and Mike Ingelbeen, and sisters Marguerite Raffray, Celina Petillion and Elizabeth Menec.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory; her children Denis Parthenay (Donna), Donald Parthenay (Laurie), Gilles Parthenay (Heather) and Joanne Saquet (Donald). Her grand-children; Eric Parthenay (Amanda), Crystal Sydora (Dale), Garrett Parthenay (Amanda) , Aaron Parthenay (Ramona), Lisa Marie Carter (Jesse), Matyas Toth (Danielle), Ryan Toth, Lindsay Fialka (Matt), Ashley Lussier (Jesse), Travis Saquet (Tasha), Kylie Frattinger (Mark). Great grand-children; Brianna Parthenay (Dillon), Kelsie Parthenay (Adam), Chase Nault (Kayla), Montana Nault (Erik), Meadow and Lola Parthenay, John Connor, Mary Jane, Eric James and Jax Ruger Parthenay, Cale Carter, Jozsua Toth, Oliver Fialka, Iyla and Rylan Lussier, Dominik and Darko Iwanchysko, Anzhe, Mykel and Stephan Saquet, Jake and Sadie Frattinger. Great-great grand-children; Bentley and Natalie Nault, Anna Borowski. Sisters; Cecile Tucker, Stella Molgat and Jeanne Kernel, brother Adelard Ingelbeen as well as numerous extended family members.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Ste. Rose de Lima Church. Interment followed in the Ste. Rose Cemetery.
The family is extremely grateful for the wonderful care and compassion provided by Dr. O’Hagan, Dr. Gudmundson and the staff at the Ste. Rose General Hospital.
