Robert ‘Bob »s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Stankewich passed away at the Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, SK, on February 20, 2022, at the age of 64 years.
Robert “Bob” was born December 4, 1957, in Canora, SK, to Steven and Mary (Marchinko) Stankewich. He attended school in Canora, SK. From there, he moved to The Pas, MB, where he worked for CN for a couple of years. Not one to stay in one place for a long time, he found employment at Snow Lake, MB, Christopher Lake, SK, and up until his passing, Candle Lake, SK. While there, he made many friends that were considered extended family.
Bob loved everything that enabled him to spend time outdoors – fishing, camping, quadding, or just sitting around a fire pit. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Bob’s retirement plans were to move back to Canora, SK, this summer, but due to illness this unfortunately could not happen.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Mary; brother, Thomas; brother-in-law, Ed Kopeck; sister-in-law, Judy Stankewich; and his niece, Trisha Rakochy.
He is survived by his brothers, Glen Stankewich and Don (Carman) Stankewich; and sisters: Judy (Ron) Philipchuk, Debbie Kopeck, Joan (Danny) Rakochy, Carol Shumay (Todd Wellsch), and Barb (Milton) Kowalchuk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Bob Stankewich.
