Dawson – It is with great
sadness that we said goodbye to Donald « Donnie » Hazen Dawson
on February 18th, 2022, aged 75, of Summerside, PEI.
Born in the middle of a December snowstorm in Bedeque and
taken to the hospital with the doctor by snowplow, he became the son
of the late Hazen and Pearl (MacLean) Dawson.
Donnie leaves his wife Jean (Enman). He was a loving father
to Melissa (Jim) Spielman and Amanda (Troy) Huston, Jean’s
son’s John, and Neal (Jaime) Dawson and his beloved
grandchildren Bella, Ivy, Kingsley, Haven, Cooper, Kyle, Patrick,
Rylee, Ethan, Sydni, Julia and several nieces and nephews. Donnie is
also survived by the mother of his children Wanda (MacLeod)
Marshall.
Brother to Marilyn Dawson Barlow, Heather (Frank) Woods,
Garth (Colleen) Dawson, Alan Dawson, and brother-in-law to Eric
MacWilliams. Predeceased by sister Arlene MacWilliams.
Growing up on the family farm in Albany, educated at
Provincial Vocational specializing in automotive which led him to many
friendships personally and professionally. After many years
in a garage, he had a chance to take a School Bus driving course which
he enjoyed. Donnie loved spending time at the beach with his
family, travelling with his parents and Jean, and driving his
Lincoln.
We would like to thank the many amazing doctors, nurses, and
staff at Prince County Hospital for the wonderful compassionate care
he received especially under these stressful times.

Internment to take place later in South Shore
United Church Cemetery, Hampton, PE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
South Shore United Church Peoples Cemetery or PEI Humane
Society.
