Emerson, John «Wayne»
Peacefully at Louise Marshall Hospital on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Donna-Marie Baksh (Jan. 22, 2018). Wayne was the youngest of 4 children: Norm (Fay), Loree Phinnemore (d.) and Dave (Tracy) who all grew up in Willowdale, North York; beloved uncle to Tara, Ryan Cy, Gil, Ayla Phinnemore and Meg; great-uncle to Dionne, Erica and Ethan Emerson and Avory Jamieson. Wayne loved kids and they sure loved him. Wherever the kids were Wayne was not far away. Wayne lived most of his life in Toronto and spent most of his career as a manager for a Print Three shop downtown. He loved music and seeing live music in small venues was one of Wayne’s favourite things to do. He loved Sports especially basketball and the March Madness tournaments. Spending time at his cottage at Sauble Beach was the only place he ever needed to travel too. Married to Donna Marie for many years they lived happily in The Queens Quay neighbourhood where they had many friends. Wayne remained close friends with several of his childhood friends throughout his life. Loyalty was a characteristic trait of Wayne. He recently moved to Mount Forest to be closer to his friend Deb Gallucci who proved to be a great and important friend to Wayne during the last two years of a pandemic that has caused us all to be very isolated.
Memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Wayne in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
