Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of husband, father, grandfather and son David Bellavance on January 26, 2022 at the age of 82 years.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years Irene; sons Greg (Susan), Gordon (Jeanette), granddaughter Sara, grandsons Brett and Jay; Mother Elsie Bellavance; brothers Lionel (Louise), Rene (Pat), Bob (Liana) Denis (Jessi); sisters Barbara (Garry) Verhelst, Sandra (Tim) Corbin; brother-in-law Jim (Dorothy) Madigan; sisters-in-law Dorothy (Richard) Meyers, Loretta (Curt) Hassett; numerous nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by infant son Michael, father Leon, sister Marlene Fellner, brothers Russell and Dwayne, father and mother-in-law Mike and Agnes Madigan.
David was born and raised on the family farm south of Radville Saskatchewan. David farmed with his father and worked with Larsen’s Redi-mix until 1968 when he took a job working underground at the Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan in Lanigan. The family lived in Lanigan until 1979 when they moved back to Radville where David and his brother Russell started a company of their own, Southwestern Roofing and Construction. In 1984 David and Irene started their own carpentry business named Dave’s Woodworks. David also worked for the Radville School Division as maintenance supervisor until 1997. In 1997 David and Irene purchased the old school division office on Main Street in Radville and converted it into a woodworking shop. The new company was named Paragon Carpentry where he worked until his retirement in 2007.
David served on Radville Town Council from 2003 to 2006 and was Mayor of Radville from 2006 to 2009.
David was a gifted carpenter whose kitchen cabinets and handy work can be seen in many homes in Radville and surrounding area. David also loved gardening and taking care of his yard.
David’s sense of humour and wit will be sorrowfully missed.
Due to Covid no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers for family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in David’s name may be made to the Radville Marian Health Care Auxiliary, Box 459, Radville, SK, S0C 2G0.
