It is with sadness we announce the
unexpected passing of our mother Catherine
« Kay » Adelia Ripley, age 86 of Northport.
Catherine passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the East
Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash.
Born in North Greenville, she was a
daughter of the late Hubert and Carrie Pettigrew.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving
person with a gentle heart who always put the needs of her family
before her own. She was a strong woman who faced many challenges in
her life with courage and dignity.
Growing up, Mom was always there for us,
whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on.
She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in us the importance
of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true
role model who we will always look up to.
Mom was a hard worker, who worked along
side our dad in the family businesses. She then worked many years as a
cashier at Zellers till she retired to look after her
grandsons.
She often said « I am so lucky to
have a loving family and friends to look after me. » In truth, we
were so lucky to have her.
Mom, we love you so much, you will
always be in our hearts.
The family would like to thank VON and
caring and compassionate staff at East Cumberland Lodge. They would
also like to thank Sister Sue and Virginia for staying with their mom
while she was at home.
She was the devoted wife of the late
Vaughn Ripley and loving mother of Gordon Ripley of Fenwick, Sidney
(Robynn) Ripley of Coe Hill, ON and Linda (Tim) Brine of Northport.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her
grandchildren Willis (Ginni), Terry (Jessica), Alysha, Zachary,
Charles (Samantha), Jesse (Kim) and Jordan; her great grandchildren
who loved her sense of play, Addison, Melody, Austin, Brooke-Lynn,
Peyton and Weston. She will be remembered by her surviving sisters
Ruth Ripley of Nappan, June (Durline) Stiles of Little Forks and Jinny
Steeves of Peticodiac, NB.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her husband Vaughn in 1982, her sister Helen Forrest,
daughter-in-law Heather Ripley, brother-in-laws Howard Forrest, Alwin
Ripley and Chester Steeves.
