Brenda A. Maskell
1955-2022
Throughout her life she lived with strength ,courage and positivity.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brenda
«Boo» Ann Maskell (nee Daly) of Beechwood N.B. at her home
on Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Predeceased by her soul mate and devoted husband Leroy «Roy»
Maskell, her father John D.Daly, brother Timothy and infant sister
Mary Francine. Mother and father in law Betty (Bridget O’Flynn) and
Stephen K. Maskell. Paternal grand-parents John P. and Flossie Daly
(Florence Foran), maternal grandparents Ernest L. and Mertiece Verner
(Hamilton), Maternal great-grandmother Jenny Higgins (Chapel) paternal
great- grandparents John and Bridget Daly.
Born February 26, 1955 second and shortest of 8 children to John and
Mertiece (Verner) Daly. She is survived by Roy’s daughters Crystal
Bruce (Deano) of Bath, NB and Catherine Blaney (Michael) of Gagetown,
NB, 4 grandsons Dillon and Tyler Bruce , Bath, NB and Lucas and Mathew
Blaney of Fredericton, NB . Special Nanny to Michaela and the late
Micha Wright Bath and many others. Mother, Mertiece Daly, siblings
Diane Daly (Carl) of Hatfield Point, NB, Wanda Amos Dartmouth, NS,
John Andrew Daly Miramichi, NB, Todd Daly and Tammy Field (Michael)
both of Saint John, NB. Sister in law, Patricia (Davey) Allison
Riverbank, NB brothers in law, Steven Daniel Maskell (Marg)New Castle,
ON, Vaughn Maskell Beechwood and Kenneth Paul Maskell (Sandi) Aye ON.
She will live in the hearts of her Aunt Regina Porter (Verner) and
Uncle David Verner both of Saint John, NB. God-daughter Jennifer JL
Verner of Saint John, NB as well as numerous cousins and several
nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews each adored and treasured
for their uniqueness.
She relocated to Bath NB in 1983 and married Roy Maskell 1987 who she
described as «the light of her life, apple of her eye , knight in
shining armor and thriller of her loins.» Boo was warmly welcomed
by in-laws and community alike. She owned and operated Curio Crafts
,Bath and taught all aspects of crafting. Boo was volunteer director
and coordinator at the Activators Club for Bath and surrounding
areas.
She became mother to Leroy’s beautiful, intelligent and self
sufficient teenagers, who tolerated her sometimes overwhelming and
smothering ways. Even meeting them the first time was memorable. On
entering she heard faint voices coming from the basement ‘please Dad
let us out , please don’t beat us, we promise to be good’. The apples
didn’t fall far. These delightful young women blessed her with 4
grandsons and again she thrived. She will be patiently watching from
afar filled with pride and gratitude.
She thanks Dr. Colin Lockhart for his care and compassion over the
years and to whom she drove to exasperation at times. Dr. Amanda
Caissie and Dr. Margo Burnell, Saint John, Dr. Benjamin Hoyt ENT
Fredericton and Dr. Tim Brown Otolaryngology/ENT Surgeon Halifax NS,
Dr. Chowdrury for being a fantastic advocate and Natalie Hearn M.Sc.S
-LP for finally discovering the cause of all her eating and swallowing
challenges, both of Upper River Valley Hospital Waterville.
Extra-mural team Eric respiratory, Laura Lee nutrition and Sandra RN
as well as numerous home care workers.
Visiting will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9
pm from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207 Burnham Rd.
Florenceville-Bristol. A funeral service will be held on Saturday,
December 31, 2022 at 12:0 noon from the chapel. Interment will be in
the Johnville Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations made to the
Bath Lions Medical Travel Fund would be appreciated.
