Pete Driedger
1953 – 2022
Pete Krahn Driedger, passed away in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the age of 69 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 between 9:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M.
The Burial Service will be held at Taber Memorial Garden, 7600 – 50 Street, Taber on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 10:00 A.M.
Pete is survived by his daughter Judy (Robert) Hatfield of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and their children Paige Olund (Akia), Jack Hatfield, Sydney Hatfield (Tanner), Mackay Hatfield (Geena); his son Dale’s children Bradley Driedger, Eric Driedger (Emma) and Justin Driedger; his son Paul’s children Brooke Driedger (Mitchell) and Amber Driedger (Lee). He is also survived by his mother Susanne Driedger and a very special niece, Crystal Bergen, who was just like a daughter to him. He will also be remembered by several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and other members of his extended family.
He was predeceased by his sons Dale Driedger, Paul Driedger and the mother of his children, Norma Jean Peters.
Pete was a jack of all trades. He was able to fix anything broken, even if it meant «rigging» things together. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and his ’81 Dodge Ram. His dream was to restore his baby and get it back on the road and his dream is coming true, his grandson Justin has already got it running. Papa would be so proud and excited.
Pete used to play hockey in his younger years. He was a master at building things, like Judy’s grade five science fair green house; she was so proud to show off her dad’s handy work. Pete was the farming king, that man had the greenest thumb for crops and the patients of a saint for those cattle… and the kids!
Pete spent endless hours helping his sons build things, fix vehicles and taught them to grow gardens. He also taught Judy how to maintain a vehicle, cook and how to pull pranks. He was her hero.
Pete was a quiet man, but he was sweet, kind, witty and although he didn’t like to show it, he had a huge heart and a soft spot for his family. He will be happy to be reunited with all the loved ones waiting for him in heaven.
