Clayton James Doyle 2022

The passing of Clayton James Doyle, husband of Peggy (McEvoy) Doyle, occurred at Hospice House Fredericton, on Tuesday December 13, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Born on September 2, 1946, in Nelson, NB, he was the son of the late Clayton and Lina (Lynch) Doyle.
Clayton spent his career working at various mills in the Miramichi area as an industrial mechanic, retiring from UPM Kymmene, Blackville Lumber Division, in 2008 from his role as maintenance supervisor. In his retirement, Clayton enjoyed the outdoors and his many hobbies: driving his tractor, his garden which he shared with family, his camp in Barnaby that he visited daily, and his bees and the honey that he loved to share freely. He was a MacGyver of sorts who could fix anything with a piece of rope and some electrical tape, and a master storyteller with an unmatched sense of humour; his family and friends always enjoyed their conversations with him.
He was survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Peggy (Mag as he called her), and his proudest accomplishment in life, his five children: Jason (To-Linh) of Rothesay, Janice McNeill (Nelson) of Fredericton, Dale (Carmen) of Miramichi, Andrew (Theresa) of Calgary and Heather Bell (Jocke) of Fredericton; eight grandchildren, Jenna and Evan McNeill, Catherine and Emily Doyle, Josie and Findley Doyle, Bryer and Scotlyn Bell; sister, Joan McEvoy (Donnie); brothers, Leo (Frances) and Terry (Rose Mary); sisters-in-law: Carmel Doyle and Betty Doyle; several nieces and nephews, including Jamie who he was especially close with. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Carl and Reggie Doyle.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bill MacGillivray, Extra Mural, and all the staff at the Hospice House who provided such warm care for Clayton during his brief stay.
Visitation will take place at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Hwy, Miramichi, NB on Friday December 16, 2022, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11 AM from Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Nelson, Miramichi with Father Anthony Dass Papu officiating. For those who wish, donations may be made to Hospice House, Fredericton, NB or the Dr. Gerard & Judy Losier Foundation. Messages of condolence may be offered through www.bellsmeadows.com
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. Telephone: 506-622-3600.
