Glassford: Wayne –
A resident of Muirkirk, Wayne Glassford passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on December 7, 2022 at the age of 76.
Born in Chatham, Wayne was the son of the late Albert and Mildred (Leverton) Glassford.
Beloved husband of 56 years to Linda (nee Cameron).
Survived by 2 sons, Mark Glassford (Joan Krantz) and Dale Glassford (Laurie).
Loving grandfather to Vance, Macey and Nick Glassford.
Brother to Don Glassford (Barb), Larry Glassford (Twyla) and Roy Glassford (Colleen).
Brother-in-law to Don Cameron (Lillian) and Doris Cameron (Ralph).
Wayne was an avid farmer who was extremely proud to see the Glassford family farm moving into the 4th generation.
His passion for stock car racing started in his younger years as a driver, and later he was an enthusiastic fan watching his sons and grandson race.
He and Linda enjoyed the opportunity to travel extensively.
Wayne will be missed by his many nieces and nephews at all the annual family gatherings.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. A service in memory of Wayne will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 11:00 am.
Donations in Wayne’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or Four Counties Health Services Foundation would be appreciated.
