SMITH, Audrey Jean (July 20, 1945 – November 18, 2022)
It is with sadness our family announces the passing of Audrey Jean Smith, a resident of Simcoe and formerly of Wycombe (RR1 Delhi), in her 78th year, at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe. Born in Simcoe, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Smith and the late Leota (Jamieson) Smith. Audrey is survived by a sister Evelyn Shoff, (late Ernest); and a brother Gordon Smith (Roseann). A niece Heather King (Miles), and nephews Bruce Shoff (Shelley), Jamie Smith (Stephanie) and Jody Smith. Her family also includes great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and cousins, proudly making her part of a four-generation family. Audrey valued the special friendship she shared with Heather and Jim and their families. She liked her Tim Hortons coffee, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on television, eating out, and being with friends and family. Her family will miss her and remember her as one that could always be counted on to call you on your birthday. The family sincerely appreciates everyone who was a part of Audrey’s treatment team including the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton; St. Joseph’s Hospital Brantford Dialysis Unit; Norfolk General Hospital Palliative Care and Rosewood Senior Living, Simcoe.
In keeping with Audrey’s wishes, a private family visitation and funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 40 Queen St., Langton. Interment will follow in Langton Baptist Cemetery.
