Andrea Haman led a simple life of intention, taking great joy in connecting with her family and friends through everyday things: walking through the park, enjoying the great outdoors, sharing a meal. Known for her beautiful smile, she gave deeply of herself, and was genuine, honest and open. She also struggled with anxiety and depression, and decided to end her life. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Andrea died on September 10, 2022. She was 49
Her husband of 21 years, David, has lost his soulmate. Her sons, Aedan and Graeme, have lost a devoted mother. Also mourning her loss are her parents Dianne (Kevin) and Andre (Joan), and her sister Pamela. She will be deeply missed by a wide circle of friends and extended family. Andrea had an engaging way of connecting with people, and her loss will touch many.
Friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Andrea’s life on Saturday, October 15 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Ridley Funeral Home 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (between Kipling and Islington at Fourteenth St.). Some formal words will be spoken at 2:00 pm. Casual dress is encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, please have open and brave discussions about suicide to honour Andrea’s life. Donations to Brain Canada or Doctors Without Borders would be appreciated by the family.
