It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Lloyd Chester Crossman, age
87, of Middleton, NB. Lloyd passed away at the Saint John
Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Born in Middleton, NB, Lloyd was a son
of the late Lee and Lila (Getson) Crossman.
Lloyd was employed
with Correctional Service of Canada (Dorchester Penitentiary,
Dorchester NB), for 25 years, before his
retirement.
Lloyd kept busy in his retirement.
You would often see him lending a helping hand to his
sons’ businesses Fundy Environmental and Dorchester
Mechanical Plus. He enjoyed everything mechanical,
repairing heavy machinery, and especially operating the
bulldozer.
Lloyd lived a simple life and never
required much. He had a quick wit, and was a friendly fella
who loved to engage in conversation. He was always there for
his family, who always came first.
He enjoyed feeding the ravens, was a
self-taught «MacGyver», and was a dedicated lifelong learner
from watching the learning channel.
Lloyd was creative and was known best
for coming up with a way to make something from
nothing.
In his later years when he was not as
mobile, Lloyd traveled the roads of Dorchester in his vehicle to keep
an eye on things.
Lloyd enjoyed his time at the
«shops», connecting with all his sons, and was very
generous to all.
Lloyd will be dearly missed by his wife
Mary Anne (McCabe), Middleton; sons Kevin, Middleton, Karl (Kimbal),
Dorchester, Kendall, Middleton, Kent (Cindy), Sackville, Kerby (Line),
Sackville; grandchildren John, Lee Ann (Calum) Hardie, Kody (Taurey) ,
Ethan, Anna, Janelle and Evan; great grandchildren Kyle, Keirsten, and
Freya; great great granddaughters Lucy and Lily.
He was predeceased by his grandson Tyler
Lee Crossman; siblings Phyllis Pickles, Gordon Crossman, Lorna
MacGregor, and Kenneth Crossman.
Cremation has been completed.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones
Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB
(506-364-1300). There will be no public gathering at this
time. Burial will happen at a later date.
Those wishing
to donate in memory of Lloyd may
do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation.
Lloyd’s family wishes to
extend heartfelt thanks to all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the
Saint John Regional Hospital as well as at the
Sackville Memorial Hospital, for their care
and attention during Lloyd’s brief
illness.
