Terry Milford Smith
1951-2022
It is with heavy hearts the family of Terry
Milford Smith, age 71, of Canaan, announce his passing on Monday,
August 29, 2022 at home after a courageous battle with
cancer.
Born and raised in Liverpool, he was a son of
the late Milford and Myrtle (Wilson) Smith. He was a proud alumnus of
Acadia University, where he met the love of his life, Sharon Barrett.
Terry taught at the NSCC Annapolis Valley Campus in Middleton for 25
years, followed by 10 years as a human resources manager in Woodstock,
New Brunswick. Terry enjoyed RV’ing with family and friends,
especially along the ocean. He found much joy in the simple things in
life – biking and walking nearby trails, landscaping and
do-it-yourself projects, taking in Acadia basketball games, or
enjoying the scenery and festivals of the Annapolis Valley, South
Shore, and beyond. Above all, Terry was a deeply devoted husband,
proud father and supporter to his two sons, and the biggest
cheerleader to his five grandchildren.
Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife
of 46 years, Sharon; their sons Chad (Melanie), Beaver Bank, and Sean
(Cathy), Kentville; grandchildren Matthew, Anna, Shay, Cate, and
Trent; brother Rick, sisters Sherilan and Bonny; several in-laws,
nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Cremation has taken place and a private
interment will be held. A private celebration of Terry’s
life will be held at a later date. Donations in Terry’s
memory may be made to Port Williams United Baptist Church. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line
