Robert owned Rogue Power Construction Ltd of which he was a journeyman lineman. He operated this business for many years around the Peace Country, mostly contracting to ATCO (formerly Alberta Power) building power lines and residential services. He was also a farmer, truck driver, and picker operator. He worked for many different companies from Manning to Dawson Creek to Grande Prairie over the years.
Robert volunteered on the board of directors for the Manning REA for a few years and served as board chair for a number of those years.
As a youth, Robert played hockey and was a goalie for his hockey team. As he grew older, he played baseball. He became a very good pitcher while he was in the league. As an adult Robert decided to try golf and became an avid golfer and attended the Tournament of Champions on quite a few occasions in the Peace Country. As he got older, he became a member of the senior golf league. Robert also loved to go motorbiking and would go for a day trip, or longer any chance he got. Personal Reminiscence: Robert loved to visit. You could often find him visiting at the coffee shop, the parts store, the garbage dump, the water station, an auction sale, or even on the side of the road, pretty much anywhere there were people who wanted to chat. Robert loved intelligent conversation.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Lynda of 55 years, their daughter Susan (Gregg): children Tallon (Jessica) & Jazzy; their son Rob (Tamara) : child (Mason); numerous sisters, brothers, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and their spouses; nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his mother Frieda, father Bob, Sister Barb, FIL Ted, BILs Eric and Darcy.
