Obituary For Maria Helena Doleanu
Maria Doleanu, resident of the County of Grande Prairie No.1, AB, formerly of Tumbler Ridge, BC, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, in her home, at the age of 85 years.
Maria was born in Poteleni, Romania, on February 2, 1936, to Costache and Elena Crismariuc. She married Gheorghe Doleanu, with who she had two sons. Maria immigrated to Canada in 1990 with her father, to live with her son and his family in Tumbler Ridge. She worked as a janitor at the local mine as well as cleaned people’s homes for them. Maria also worked at Mama’s Donair and Pizza in the Prairie Mall for many years.
She loved gardening and had amazing yearly crops with her son, which they shared with the neighbors and friends. Maria also did beautiful knitting and needlework.
Maria will be sadly missed by her son John (Dianne) Doleanu; grandchildren: Jennifer (Andrew) Lawrence in ON, Julia Doleanu (Andrew Bull) in Grande Prairie, Ramona (Lonel) Sandra, Claudio (Melinda) Doleanu, and Daniel (Marianna) Doleanu in Romania; as well as great-grandchildren: Kristie, James and Rorey Lawrence in ON, as well as Raluca and Raoul Sandra, and Antonia Doleanu in Romania.
Maria was predeceased by her son Dumitru and daughter in-law Florica of Romania, as well as her husband Gheorghe Doleanu of Romania.
A private Viewing and Graveside Service will be held.
