GILLESPIE, Norah (neeTate)
January 17, 1925 – August 23, 2022
Norah passed peacefully in her sleep at Brantford General Hospital on August 23, 2022. She is predeceased by her loving husband Jack, son Andrew (Wendy), brothers Bryan and Frank, and sisters Dorothy and Audrey. Loving mother to Bryan (Heather). Survived by sisters Olga (late Don), Susan (Paul), Jennifer (late Peter) and Nancy (Peter) and brother Geoffrey (Celia), all residing in England. She will be missed by grandchildren Matthew (Heather), Kirstin, Mark (Ayesha) and David (Karli), as well as great grandchildren Jack, Ben, Kaitlyn and Keira.
Mother immigrated to Canada as a war bride through the doors of Pier 21 in Halifax on March 1, 1946 to join the love of her life, Jack, in starting a family. During the following years she worked and volunteered part time as well as supporting a number of charities. She was a lifelong member of Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. She and dad enjoyed numerous trips to visit family in the U.K. The family is grateful for the wonderful care from staff at Charlotte Villa Retirement Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to McCleister Funeral Homes, 495 Park Rd N, Brantford. Donations may be made in memory of Norah to the Brant SPCA.
