Mom was a very vibrant lady who literally lit up a room when she entered. She modeled on many occasions and loved fashion. She thoroughly enjoyed music especially dancing and being with her family and friends, always eager to chat and share a joke.
She had an inherent joy of cooking and baking, especially Christmas cakes and homemade bread. Tending to her home and garden, and applying a fresh coat of paint where needed, kept her an active, independent and energetic lady well into her 90s.
The house that Louis built was her castle. She kept it like a doll’s house, inside and out. Mom always talked about our Dad and “those days” as if it were yesterday. She kept our Dad’s memory alive for 52 years.
Mom was raised in Brigus, NL and visited there often. The house she grew up in, the Fowler House, is now a designated heritage home.
Our lasting memories of mom are simple: a hardworking, passionate woman of strength, firm in her faith and one who never wavered in her support and love of her family. No obstacles were too large to overcome. Her passing leaves a large void in our lives.
The family would like to thank the management and staff of Kingsway Living GFW for their loving care, attention and kindness. We would also like to thank Mary Chow for being such a special friend to Mom.
