Obituary
Nancy Ruth MacInnes Timms Davis – August 12, 1933 – July 13, 2022.
Nancy passed away after a short illness with her daughter, Shelley Lynn, by her side. She is survived by Shelley (Timms), her faithful companion, Foxie and granddog, Finnegan. She was predeceased by her parents, Stewart and Nita MacInnes, beloved aunts, Emily and Donna MacInnes and many, many, much loved canine friends.
Mum graduated from the Wellesley School of Nursing and was a nurse for almost 40 years – working in most areas but really enjoying psych nursing the most because of its challenge. She nursed in Welland, St. Catharines, Port Huron, MI, and Ashtabula, OH. Following retirement, she moved to North Bay, ON and began Giltedge Doggie Bed and Breakfast. Running the boarding kennel gave her so much joy and laughter. She used to laugh that she could talk about the owners to the dogs and they wouldn’t rat on her!
Nancy had a beautiful soprano and a life long love of opera. She loved Lake Temagami, sharing the family cottage and was an avid fisherwoman.
One of her greatest life long loves was dogs, in particular, St. Bernards in her younger years and Golden Retrievers in the last few decades with a few Spaniels thrown in for good measure. There are so many loved pups from her first friend, Bucky, to Vicky, Callie, Toughie, Banger, Lagers 1 and 2 and most recently, Foxie, just to name a few (so many more). There were a lot of pups waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge!
There is no service as per Nancy’s request. There will be a small gathering for North Bay friends on August 13, 2022 – please contact Shelley for further information.
