It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margaret Adolfson on Saturday, June 4th, 2022
Leaving to mourn her loss is her husband, Fred of 58 years, son Jim (Chris), daughter Kris, grandkids Shawna (Brenden), Kyle (Maddie) and her favorite cat Cleopatra.
Margaret worked for the Federal Government for many years with various jobs that did include traveling in small planes to reserves and traveled as far as Halifax. Closer to retirement, Margaret and Fred bought their motorhome and used it for camping and fishing all over Manitoba. They also traveled for one month every year to the US to find that perfect destination to retire to and become snow-birds in Apache Junction, Arizona. Here they spent 20 years meeting new friends from all over Canada and the US.
Margaret used to claim she was not crafty nor had a green thumb. In their park in Arizona, she had joined crafting classes, which proved that she was quite the crafter and started making Christmas decorations, table runners and baby blankets. Some of these items she would donate for those in need. At home, she started getting into gardening with tea roses and other beautiful flowers that thrived.
Margaret was part of the Buffalo Bill Line Dancers with ladies from home that were often the entertainment at the Legion. She always lit up when she spoke of her dancing days with the team. Her love of dancing carried on in Arizona where Margaret and Fred instructed dancing of the Waltz and Two Step.
Margaret also joined the Purple Ladies Group in Arizona where they met in groups wearing purple and red, but also were a part of volunteering their time. One event that Margaret and Fred volunteered for several years was the Lost Dutchman Marathon at Mile 23.
We would like to thank Concordia Hospital and Nurse Miranda for their compassion and caring for Margaret by making her as comfortable as possible.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at the request of the family.
Margaret had many good friends that we would love for you to share your fond memories with us by visiting her Tribute Wall and include your story.
Goodbye – by Angela Williams
In our minds we always knew
This time would come to pass.
But knowing it and living it,
Has come and gone so fast.
Goodbyes are often hard to say;
They hurt so very much.
Though you are gone, you still remain
In the minds, hearts, and lives you’ve touched.
