MARASCO, CHERYLL DIANNE (nee Eley)
Dianne passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Royal Rose Place in Welland at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. She was born in Hamilton to Elleen and Jack Eley (predeceased). Beloved wife and soulmate of 54 years to Gordon. Much loved and adored mother of Jodi (Edward Spencer Fox) and Sara (Timothy Davison). Cherished Umma of Spencer, Benjamin, Quinton and Abigail Fox, and Emily, Noah, Caleb and Tate Davison. Sadly missed by her dear sister Catherine Warry, brother-in-law Brian, and nephews Adam (Alex) and Andrew (Shelby), and great-nieces Holly and Talia. Also remembered by inlaws Sharon and Daniel Shea, Robert and Marilyn Marasco, Debora Camera, and their families. Dianne was a retired elementary school teacher from the Hamilton Wentworth Board of Education. She devoted her life to her 8 grandchildren. Dianne loved being a Hockey Grandmother to all 6 grandsons; Equestrian Grandmother to Abigail; and Dance Grandmother to Emily. She spent many hours utilizing her cross stitching skills and her baking was legendary in the family. Dianne and Gordon met at Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club in June 1967. Their shared passion for travel and golf took them to over 40 countries and included playing courses in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Hawaii. Dianne shared a special bond with her cousin Jo-ann and Ron Baddeley from Australia. She thoroughly enjoyed attending PGA Tour events with the Baddeleys. In keeping with Dianne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
