In loving memory of Yvonne Lapointe (nee Vaillancourt), 85 years. Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at Extendicare York, Sudbury. Beloved wife of Florent “Fern” Lapointe predeceased 1993. Loving mother of Michel, Ronald (Monique), and Gordon (predeceased 1975). Cherished grandmother of Tanya (Pat), Devin (Karen), Krysta (Brandon), Rebecca-Lynn (Cody), Kayla (Phil), and great-grandchildren Payton, Landen, Camden, and Easton. Dear daughter of Bernadette Vaillancourt (nee Gauthier) and Gordon Vaillancourt (Augustine Lambert-Vaillancourt) all predeceased. Dear sister of Suzanne predeceased.
Yvonne was a social butterfly who made friends wherever she would go. Once a friend always a friend. She was the Matriarch of the family, a confidant and counsellor to even those outside the family. If you needed help, you could always count on her. She had many hobbies but her favourite pastime was hanging out with her family and friends and of course going to church whenever she had a chance. She was always smiling and filled the lives of those around her with joy and happiness. Her love and positivity were very contagious.
She will be missed by her family and many close friends. A big thank you to Extendicare York staff who made her stay very comfortable and treated her like family!
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Memorial Mass at Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Dr., Sudbury , on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at 10am. Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. No funeral visitation. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
