Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announce the sudden passing of Yvon at the age of 72, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
Yvon was the proud son of (late, Jean-Paul Rhéaume) and Isabelle Rhéaume (née Mainville) and the much loved brother of Gisèle (Gilbert Morin), Hélène (Marcel Michaud), Michel (Carole H.-Rhéaume) all of Chelmsford, Colette (Paul St-Amour) of Val Caron, Julie (Norm Rochon) of Sudbury and Sylvie (Jody Caldwell) of Chelmsford. He was a kind uncle to eleven nieces and nephews and amongst them a godfather to Josée. He will be remembered by his tante Claire Gladu (Robert) alongside many cousins and friends.
We cherish many precious memories of his time with us.
Born and raised at Vermillion Lake, he had many interests such as collecting stamps, hockey cards and comic books; enjoyed swimming, hockey, karate, guitar and loved riding his 500 Kawasaki motorcycle and his pink Barracuda. His warm and outgoing personality secured him multiple friendships.
Yvon worked for Falconbridge Ltd. as a Second Class Stationary Engineer. His resourcefulness led him to travel across Canada, to several short stays in Mexico and on to British Columbia. He settled in Penticton, BC for its scenic beauty and made his home there, for the last twenty years. Walking, cycling, enjoying the scenery became his new pastimes.
He will be forever remembered for his loving spirit.
A special thank you and appreciation, to Karen Clark, Sasha Miller and to the devoted team of Interior Health Authority Okanagan in Penticton, who took Yvon under their wings and provided him security, friendship, care and love.
At Yvon‘s request, he will be laid to rest, at the Lakeview Cemetery, in Penticton, BC. A private celebration of life will follow at a later date.
