Wilma “Jim” Cooke passed away at home Monday, October 4th, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her sister Gail (Roy), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by her husband: Leonard Cooke; first husband: Tony Korble; her son: Gary Korble; parents: James Dean and Katherine Galloway; and siblings: Norma, Patricia, Donna, Auld, Dale and Daniel.
Jim was born in Athabasca, AB and enjoyed growing up there and spending her summers at the family cabin at Baptist Lake. After Tony’s passing she married Len, both of them retired by then. Jim and Len then relocated back to Athabasca to be closer to their families in Alberta.
Jim always enjoyed travelling and was an avid traveler throughout her life. She especially enjoyed her travelling to Hawaii and Japan. Other than travelling, Jim loved playing bridge. She played as many times a week as she could.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Ironwood Estates in St. Albert, where she lived; Dr. Finlay McAlister; and nurses: Anne-Marie and Melissa. She was one of your biggest fans! To the ladies at Exquisicare: Sandy, Lorelei, and Mel, you were such a big help and comfort in her last weeks. Thank you.
