Ehler, William Owen « Billy », age 72, of Afton,

Regional Hospital, Antigonish, on July 3, 2021, surrounded by his

Dad loved a simple life, content to stay close to home and go

provider, Dad always believed in saving for a rainy day. A
porter operator all his life, he loved coming home and telling Mom
about the hill he hauled on today.

(Bayers); his children, Paul (Donnette); Judy (David Guthro); and
Amanda (Keith) MacDonald; grandchildren, Darren, Allissa, Ryan,
Jeremy, Connor, Sawyer, Harlow, and Ramsey; brother, James; sister,
Doris (Melvin) Layes; sisters-in-law, Joan Wallace and Judy Cameron;
and brothers-in-law, Frank MacDonald and Cyril Bayers; as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in
C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonsh.
Social distancing protocols are in place, and masks are
mandatory. Funeral Tuesday in St. Peter’s Church,
Tracadie, at 11:00am, Fr. John Barry presiding. Due to COVID
restrictions, space is limited, but the service will be livestreamed
on the funeral home website.
Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery,
Merland.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at

Heather Brander and the nurses of Palliative Care for the wonderful

As Dad would say, « Don’t forget, you have to
eat after Christmas, too! »
