Peacefully after caring palliation by the excellent staff at the Almonte General Hospital, in Almonte, Ontario on Sunday February 7, 2021.
William McGarry
Predeceased by his much loved wife, and best friend for 64 years, Avril McGarry (d. 2016). Beloved brother of Cecil McGarry (d. 2009) and Doreen O’Shaughnessy of Ireland. Uncle to Jane, David (d. 2018), and Andrew O’Shaughnessy. Brother in law to Ann (d.2013), Aideen (d. 2017), and Nuala MacCabe, and Uncle to Ann’s seven children. Cherished Father of his children William Jr, Ann, Siobhan, Nuala, Ursula, Peter, Daniel, Meg and Susan McGarry. Grandfather of 19, and Great Grandfather of 7, with one great grandchild coming in August.
Bill McGarry was the very definition of a Good Samaritan, who never turned away from an opportunity to support others in need. He leaves a beautiful legacy of loyalty, honour and devotion to faith that will resonate through generations.
In light of the current pandemic, family and friends will be notified at a future date, of a Mass to Celebrate William’s life in Holy Name of Mary Church, in Almonte.
