Bundruck, Willi;
Born on July 13th, 1927, in Ludwigshafen, Am Rhein, Germany. Willi was a WWII Veteran and immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s, where he started his legacy. In 1956, Willi married his wife Bertha (Pfalzgraf) Bundruck, with whom he shared a loving 65 years together. They resided in Pembroke, Ontario, where they gave birth to two daughters Marian and Monica. For many years, Willi worked for Ontario Hydro, and as a family, they moved to Kitchener in 1966.
Very much part of the community, Willi was known as a fantastic neighbour; he was considered the grandfather of the neighbourhood and had a way with people. He was the type of person who was never angry, always willing to lend a helping hand and gave great advice.
His favourite pastimes included visits to the St. Jacobs Farmers Market, Niagara-on-the-Lake, camping in the motor home at Sauble Beach and outings to Costco. He was always busy tinkering and had a love for photography. Willi had a very endearing personality; he lived life to the fullest and always had a story to tell. He had a zest for life, lived with a strong sense of family and his unique sense of humour put a smile on everyone’s faces. Willi could make conversation with pretty much anyone even if they didn’t understand German!
His family is very grateful to the physicians and nursing staff at St Mary’s Hospital. Willi will be missed by his wife Bertha, his daughters Marian and Monica (Marc), grandchildren Robyn (Stu), Kyle, Jade (Josh), Carly, Julia (Rory), and Tyler (Maria), great-grandson Elijah, and extended family and friends.
Willi’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A Memorial will be held in the funeral home chapel on December 23, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.
