Galilee, Warren:
Passed away on April 27, 2021 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 49 after suffering a stroke.
Devastated by the loss are Elizabeth Heald, his wife of 23 years, and his beautiful daughter, Madison Galilee. He is reunited in heaven with his late son Dylan Galilee who passed away in 2008 at the age of 6 due to complications from undiagnosed Kawasaki disease. Warren is also pre-deceased by his father-in-law, Lance Heald, and his grandparents, Warren & Grace Smithers.
Warren will be greatly missed by his parents, Masey John Galilee and Elizabeth Mary Anne Galilee. His kind-hearted nature will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Janet Heald, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Warren was born with congenital heart disease that led him to have three open-heart surgeries in his life to repair and then replace his heart valve. This, however, did not impact Warren’s love of life. He was active and healthy, and always bounced back quickly from these interventions. When not enjoying time in their backyard, Warren, Elizabeth, and their family loved to travel – whether it be for regular trips to see Elizabeth’s family in Thunder Bay, or to destinations across Canada, the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Asia, and South America.
Warren and Elizabeth were deeply connected. They were each other’s best friend and soulmate, and seldom was a cross word spoken in their home. Madison also had a very special bond with her Dad. He called her every day on his way to or from work to share some funny story, or just to say he loved her. They shared a love of music, cooking, and anything creative.
Warren worked at Toyota (TMMC) in Cambridge for 23 years, with the last number of years in major repair. He loved his workmates and shared many smiles, laughs and a few tears over the years. Warren and Elizabeth loved to entertain and have many close friends. The outpouring of love and support from friends and colleagues has been greatly appreciated by Warren’s family.
Warren was very accomplished at everything he did. He could look at an inspiration photo Elizabeth found of a pool cabana and re-create it in their backyard. He could listen to a song a few times and quickly figure out how to play it on his guitar. He also loved and was able to play many sports. In particular, he loved playing hockey (and liked watching the Leafs – win or lose!). He also enjoyed playing golf with friends (even though it frustrated him greatly!).
If you ask anyone to describe Warren, you would hear these words: one of the nicest guys I have ever met, always there with a helping hand, salt of the earth, a wonderful amazing human, always a happy person and a pleasure to be around, a warm heart, one of the kindest souls I’ve met. He will be missed.
Warren’s family will receive friends and colleagues from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Guests must RSVP to attend Warren’s visitation through the funeral home’s website. We apologize in advance for the short time we will have to meet, but welcome anyone that wants to come pay their respects.
Warren will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel.
A Celebration of Warren’s Life will be held at Elizabeth & Warren’s home on Saturday, June 19, 2021 – if pandemic restrictions allow – or at a later date. Guitar players are welcome for our front yard jam! More details will be shared on the Henry Walser Funeral Home website in due course.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dylan and Warren Galilee “Love, Joy, Laughter” Fund at Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation www.kwcf.ca/galilee or to the charity that Elizabeth and Warren co-founded in memory of Dylan, Kawasaki Disease Canada kdcanada.org/, would be appreciated by the family (visit online to donate or connect with the funeral home for more information).
