Today we lost our best friend, wife and mom. It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the peaceful passing of Wanda Armitage on February 7, 2021 at the age of 61, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Wanda will be forever remembered by her husband Chris who kept her laughing and entertained for 33 years and her loving sons Sean and Daniel who were always there for her when she needed them. She leaves behind her father Ed Ramsbottom, sister Sandra (Wayne) Herman, nephew Jeffrey Herman, brother in law Bernie Smyth and many lifelong friends and relatives too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her mother Ella Ramsbottom and by her sister Barbara Smyth. Wanda lived her life with kindness, compassion and a huge amount of humor. She tirelessly raised money for charity her whole life. If you ever needed anything, she was there for you. Wanda will always be remembered by her close friends for her fun loving side, especially vacations to cottages and casinos. Wanda had a long and successful career at Scotiabank where she developed an even longer list of close friends and colleagues. Wanda’s wish was to be cremated and mourned privately. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Oakville Trafalgar Hospital or The Townsend Smith Foundation would be greatly appreciated by her family.
