Walter was born on November 23, 1942 in the RM of Shell River, Manitoba; a son of John and Emily (nee Swidzinski) Goba. He attended Poplar Point School and the Kamsack Collegiate Institute. At a young age Walter took on the full-time responsibility of the family farm. On August 11, 1965 Walter married Myrtle Boyda. This union was blessed with two daughters, Marla & Carla. Together they operated a successful dairy farm and later went on to raise Charolais cattle. The farm was never without a good variety of animals of all sorts, but his true passion would be to raise horses and German Shepherd dogs.
In his retirement Walter enjoyed fishing, attending auction sales, the Casino, and Friday night wrestling were a few of his interests, and of course visiting his daughters in Moose Jaw and Leduc, Alberta, where many good memories were made.
Walter was predeceased by his parents, John & Emily; his wife Myrtle; father-in-law Mike Boyda; and by his brother-in-law Robert (Iris). Walter leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Marla (Tim) Bohn of Leduc, AB; and daughter Carla of Moose Jaw; and well as numerous other relatives and friends.
