Vivian’s Obituary
On March 26 our wonderful one of a kind Mother Vivian Carlin passed on to the next stage of her journey. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her but her memory and especially her laughter will be cherished forever. She was born in Kirkland Lake On. where she met and married her life partner Earle Carlin. Soon to follow were their three children Bill John and Louise. They eventually settled on a farm in Lorraine Valley in the Temiskaming district where they made many life long friends. Vivian worked as a high school teacher in both Cobalt and Haileybury. During this time she spent many years attending night and summer schools with the ultimate goal of completing her degree. She proudly graduated in her early forties. The next many years included world travel the arrival of grandchildren farm activities part time work and much more. After Earle died in 2000 she moved to Red Lake On. to be closer to her three children. She quickly became active in the community making a great new life and new friends for herself. She loved the seniors clubs, bridge, scrabble, the rec centre pool, game shows ,movies, travels and wonderful family times. She was also thrilled at becoming a great Grandma several times over. It was a wonderful full life!
We would like to extend our heart felt thanks to the staff at the hospital and North wood Lodge for all of their help in the latter days. A very special thank you to Dr. Zielke who has always gone far beyond the call of duty to provide the best care possible for Mom.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Hospital Auxiliary through the Red Lake Chapel, P.O. Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.
