Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Virginia Helen (Ginny) Shaw announce her passing on May 4, 2021. Born in Stickney NB to Maggie and Archie Wallace, the family moved to Saint John where she met her soulmate Lorne Shaw. Married for 55 years before Lorne predeceased her in 2012.
She was a registered nurse before returning to school and getting her Public Health Degree from Dalhousie University. She worked with the VON and public health until she retired.
Ginny was always active and enjoyed square dancing, crafts,reading and writing. She was involved in her community and was a registered clown appearing at children’s wards.
Her favorite place to be with family and friends was on Belleisle Bay at the Shaw’s Sunshine Shack.
Ginny is survived by her son Kevin (Cari) Shaw of Fredericton, daughter Cyndi (Mike) Wallace of Nerepis; Grandchildren; Jennifer (Kevin) Goldsworthy of Edmonton, Katelyn Shaw of Canmore, Cole and Sierra Dugas of Fredericton, Marissa Wallace of Saint John, Great Grandchildren; Ivy, Emma, Lyliana, Kaley and Cohen.
Ginny has requested no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Monday, August 16th at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Ginny to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
