Vilhelmine Zakrajsek was kind, generous, strong & loved her family very much. Her sudden passing at 87 is just 5 weeks after her husband’s passing. Vilhelmine was a landed immigrant in the late 50’s with her husband. Both missed their families in Slovenia and loved Canada for the all the wonderful things Canada provided for them. Survived by her son and daughter in-law & family in Slovenia. She was proud of her Slovenian heritage and one of the original members of Slovenski Park and Club Sava. She helped build and volunteer at both clubs to help in their success in the community.
Vilhelmine spent the last 17 yrs being a devoted home caregiver for her husband. He was given 2 years to live but with her amazing care, his life was extended by more than 17 years because of passion and hard work providing him with everything he needed. Truly exceptional love & devotion.
She will be also remembered for being one of the best cooks around and being true in baking the Slovenian classics like her amazing Apple Strudel and Patetcia. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. She will be sadly missed.
Funeral Visitation on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00p.m. at Corbett Funeral Home, Cambridge, Ont. Messages & condolences maybe left for the family on the Corbett Web Site.
