We, the family of Victoria Renata “Vicki” Anderson, regret to announce her sudden passing on Friday, April 23, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Vicki was a woman of great strength, courage and determination. She held many titles; she was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, nanny, and friend.
Vicki was born and raised in Louisbourg, NS, and graduated from Riverview High School. After graduation she attended university and worked at the Fortress of Louisbourg during the summer months. She was a member of the First United Church in Louisbourg.
Vicki had many hobbies that she enjoyed. She took great pride in her home, and planning all of our family gatherings. She loved music, and movies, and spending time with family and friends. Vicki was a generous person, with each Christmas contributing to local families in need.
Vicki’s biggest pride and joy was her grandson, Emmett. Nanny Vicki enjoyed many sleepovers together, Emmett determined to pamper and take care of nanny, sharing snacks and enjoying the time they spent together.
Despite the many struggles and challenges she faced throughout her life, Vicki handled them with nothing but dignity and grace, a trait that we will carry forward with us. Every day we spent with Vicki was a gift. Vicki was a lover of all animals; she had special bonds with Danielle’s dog Sassy and horse, Midnight, who both knew that she was their Nanny Vicki. As well as Brady and Louis.
Vicki leaves behind to mourn, her daughter, Danielle (Gregory); grandson, Emmett; parents, Millie and Victor; sisters, Piney (Mike) and Janet; nieces, Erin and Nicole; nephews, Mitchell and Thomas; and Angela, who was a dedicated best friend to Vicki.
Vicki was predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents; uncle, Gilbert; aunt, Piney; and close friend, Marguerite.
A special thankyou to Vicki’s loving care workers who were more like family, VON nurses, and home care nurses.
Due to recent changes to the Covid-19 restrictions, a public visitation for Vicki has been cancelled. A private family service will be live-streamed on the Sydney Memorial Chapel Facebook page (today) Wednesday, April 28 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in Willow Grove Cemetery, Louisbourg.
Memorials may be made to First United Church, Louisbourg, or charity of choice.
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.
Until we meet again.
2021
