Verina’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wonderful Mother, Nonna and Bisnonna Verina Fidanza on October 23, 2021, at the age of 86. Predeceased by her loving husband Domenico (1992). Adored mother to Tony Fidanza (Wendy), Lina Vucetich (Walter), Luciano Fidanza (Iva) and Danny Fidanza (Linda). Loving and caring Nonna to Alicia Carter (Brent), Natalie Hunter (Matt), Giordano Fidanza (Alicia), Matthew Vucetich (Monica), Melanie Maciel (Mark), predeceased by grandson Andrew Vucetich (2011), Daniel, Gabriella, Anthony, Domenic and Vincent Fidanza. Loving Bisnonna to Evelyn, Lucy, Olivia, Capri and Frankie. Predeceased by her parents Giustino and Adelina Domenicone. Daughter in-law of the late Gabriele and Anna Fidanza. Loving sister and sister-in-law of Donato (Maria) Domenicone, Domenico (Dora) Domenicone and (Erlinda) the late Francesco Domenicone of Italy. Predeceased by Giulio (Giulia) Fidanza of Italy, Vincenzo (Grace) Fidanza and Dante (Concetta) Fidanza. Survived by her brother-in-law Venanzio (late Isolina) Fidanza and Benito (late Albina) DelleMonache. Sadly, missed by her best friend Lucia Zenone, many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and Italy.
Family was always first to our mother, making many sacrifices and doing everything she could for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. Mom was very hospitable welcoming everyone into her home and always offering to prepare a meal. Mom was a very courageous and resilient woman often offering sound advice and direction while also being quite independent. Our mother will always be remembered for her commitment to her faith and love for God and family along with her genuine smile. Mom’s approach to life was to love unconditionally and treat everyone with respect and kindness. Her loving and energetic spirit and incredible strength will live on through her family forever.
With special gratitude extended to the Elm Terrace Staff at St. Peters at Chedoke for all your compassion and care. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL (43 Barton St. E) on Wednesday, October 27 from 3-8 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, all guests are required to practice physical distancing and wear a face covering.
