Obituary for
Velma Ferrari (Bozicovich)
With all her children by her side, Velma left this earth with grace, courage, and dignity in her home on Monday, October 4th, 2021.
Predeceased by her one true love, Edward (1991), infant daughter Virginia, her parents Vinco and Draga Bozicovich, brother George Bozicovich, brothers-in-law Peter Ferrari, Ralph Ferrari, Joseph Ferrari and John Ferrari, sisters-in-law Louisa Petrucci and Rita Bozicovich.
Velma leaves behind her dear sisters-in-law Helen O’Neill, Pierrette Ferrari, Elizabeth Ferrari and Audrey Ferrari. Velma was loved by many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted loving and proud mother of Louis (Lynne), Brenda, Ralph (Linda), John (Donna) and Joe (Miranda). Loving Nonni of Patricia (Denis), Tom (Lesley), Sara, Michael (Keshia), David (Justine), Shea, Edward (Natasha), Olivia (David), Krista, Patrick and Andrew. Cherished great Nonni to Grace Pilotte, Carter and McKenna Ferrari and Elodie Burtch.
Velma was a woman who loved her family unconditionally. She bestowed a genuine sense of welcome to everyone and anyone. Our home had an open-door policy to all our friends and family always. She extended her love and warmth to the children of all our friends and to the many children that Donna cared for over the years. She was Nonni to all! A devout Catholic woman Velma was a lifelong member of the Catholic Woman’s League. She was community minded, and, in that capacity, she volunteered and canvassed for the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke and the Timmins & District Hospital. She was Akela (Cubs/Scouting Association) for many years at the Moneta Recreation Club and taught Sunday school at Sacred Heart School. She was an avid golfer and a member of the “Best Sewing Group” ever. Velma was loved and admired for her selfless commitment to her family and friends and boundless capacity for giving. She enriched the lives of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her love of her family was evident always. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her source of pride and joy; she left her mark with each of them. She truly was pure of heart. Throughout the past couple of months her inner strength and courage was portrayed daily. She will continue to be an inspiration and will live forever in our minds and in our hearts. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Caelen Rody and Marnie Chisholm N.P. To the Bayshore Health team Angie, Amy and Brittany and Liz; your unending care, compassion and respect will never be forgotten. We are indebted to you.
