Valentino’s Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a great man, Valentino Bonin on December 23rd, 2021 at the age of 88 surrounded by his loving family. Valentino was born on June 12 1933 in Resana, Treviso, Italy, and came to Canada in 1953. He was a loving husband to Maria (nee Billone) for 57 years. He was the proud father of Ernesto and Angela (Bozzo), Marisa (Bonin) and Gino DiZio, Lorena (Bonin) and Peter Klianis. Loving Nonno of Jessica (Bonin) and Lino Cosco , Alexandra (Bonin) and Mike Ciprietti, Sabrina, Adrian and Julia. Loving son of the late Angelo and Maria Bonin. Brother of the late Santo and Olga, Teresina (Bonin) and Joe Marchesan, Virginio, and Ernesto. Caring brother-in-law of Lina and the late Romano Infanti. Loving Uncle to Lisa, Ida and Luigi. Brother-in-law to Mario and the late Elvira Collalilo. Loving uncle to Dino and Diana, Danny, Larry, Renso, Ricky, Frank and Lui. Loving brother-in-law of the Billone family. Survived and loved by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was a wonderful man who enjoyed life, loved to laugh and was a great friend to all. He was an active member of the Venetian Club and the Azzure Club where he made many good friends. He was a talented and respected welder learning his craft in Venice as a young man. A special thank you to the Palliative Care Program and paramedics, VON Hamilton Home Care Program, compassionate cancer surgeon Dr. Finley, and the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A Special thank you to our nurse Erlene for her loving care and support. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 3 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at All Souls Church on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery. In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, all guests must practice physical distancing and wear a face covering. For those who wish, donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital or the Cancer Society.
