Tiziano G. Cappelletto
Tiziano, also well known as Joe, passed away peacefully in Trail, BC on October 4, 2021 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Luciana and his parents Camilo and Irma Cappelletto. Tiziano is survived by his son Norman (Lori) Cappelletto of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, daughter Michele (Colin) Sheedy of Okotoks, Alberta and his grandchildren: Quinn, Michela, Charlie and Chiara. Tiziano also leaves behind his siblings Mary (Victor) Conzon, Raffaella (Dercey) D’Andrea and George (Karen) Cappelletto.
Tiziano was born in a small town near Treviso, Italy called Rovarè which was part of the community of San Biaggio di Callalta. He came to Canada in 1952 with his family and siblings where he established lifelong friendships. After some time Tiziano decided to go back to the old country for a four month visit where he met and married the love of his life Luciana (De Vidi). He brought his new bride to Canada and they started their new life together in West Trail. Tiziano (Joe) went into business as a meat cutter at Mac’s Low Cost Meats, a well known local butcher shop, where he became an integral part of the community. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Tiziano was an active member of the Colombo Lodge and Italo Canadese. At the Colombo, he helped put on banquets for a time and loved to display his barbecue skills cooking the perfect steak at picnics and lodge meetings. He also enjoyed playing cards and bocce down the gulch with his friends. He loved to visit with family and friends telling stories about the old country.
Due to Covid, a private family mass was held on October 13, 2021 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and was followed by internment at the Rossland Cemetery.
A special thank you to Bill Clark and staff of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services for such compassionate care and service. Thanks to Father Francis dela Cruz for a heartfelt mass and homily. Many thanks to the staff at Rosewood Village for the wonderful care Tiziano received during his last years.
Now Tiziano and Luciana are together forever. Rest In Peace.
