Timothy Ray Pratt – Age 61 of Rutledge, TN., passed away on November 28th, 2021, at 12:30 AM at Fort Sanders. Born on April 9, 1960, in Knoxville, TN to Judy Rucker and Raymond Pratt, Tim was the second- oldest child and a loving brother to Jeanie and Angie.
He was a 1979 graduate of Gibbs High School in Corryton, TN. He is survived by his high school sweetheart whom he married in 1981, Susie Dillie and leaves behind his only child – a hero, Christopher Ray Pratt and wife Megan. The last eight years have been some of the greatest because he was given the name “Paps” by his granddaughter namesake and the apple of his eye, Lucy Rae Pratt.
He was a man of great integrity and dignity, and walked with great confidence in the faith. He held tightly to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience and passionately stood for truth in all circumstances. In his early adulthood, Tim professed Jesus Christ as his Savior and his mission for life began. Tim faithfully served as a deacon at Fairview Baptist Church for forty years without compromise. He defined the very word “deacon” with great humility as he shared the love of Jesus to those in need in Nicaragua, Wyoming and in downtown Knoxville Motel Ministry. Tim always brought with him a contagious smile and laugh, seasoned with peaceful wisdom and love. He was always ready to help a friend or a stranger in need and never thought of himself first. His faith was his foundation and his family was his rock. He was the proud business owner of TLC Lawn Care for 26 years. The family is incredibly thankful for all the doctors and nurses in the Covid wing at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville, TN. Tim was preceded in death by Stepfather, Guy Rucker. He is survived by his loving parents Judy Rucker and Raymond (Crissy) Pratt.
He will be missed greatly by his spouse Susie; son, Christopher and wife Megan; granddaughter, Lucy Rae Pratt; loving sisters, Jeanie (Scott) Bittle and Angie Pratt; and special nephews, Clifton Haley (Heather) and Curtis Haley (Tosha).
Pallbearers, Clifton Haley, Curtis Haley, Danny Penland, Mike Young, Ed Foley, Kenny Lester, Charlie Daniels, Kenneth Cantrell; Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Fairview Baptist Church, Bill Wortham, Bill Millaps, Mike Ward, Kevin Davis, Eric Cottrell, Rick Dickerson, Joe Bond, Steve Borden, Matt Dyer and Perry Miller.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Pastors Jeff LaBorg and Keith Weaver officiating. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday at 10:45 AM at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery for graveside and interment.
